Where Christmas Spirit Shines Bright!
The 1st Annual Hometown Holiday Showdown is a Christmas door-decorating contest designed to bring joy, connection, and community spirit to Madison County while raising funds to support local families through Hometown Outreach.
Homes, businesses, churches, and youth teams will transform their doors into festive displays. A panel of judges and the community will vote for their favorites. Every entry helps us continue bridging gaps and building hope for our neighbors in need.
Your sponsorship not only makes this event possible — it directly supports food access, essential supplies, and outreach services for individuals and families across our hometown.
How the Contest Works
Residents, businesses/organizations, churches, and youth teams will register below and pay their entry fee online. Our volunteer photographers will contact each entrant and photograph each entry for a live people’s choice voting contest. During judging week, the people’s choice contest will run parallel to our panel of judges visiting and judging each entry in person. Our volunteers will tally all judges votes and all people’s choice votes. There will be 1 winner for each of the following categories:
• Best Residential Door Display
• Best Business Door Display
• Best Church Door Display
• Best Youth Team Door Display
• Best in Show
• Most Creative
• People’s Choice (voted by the community)
Winners receive prizes or a plaque (for bragging), and a yard sign (for more bragging)!

We’re just getting started — and the holiday magic is only going to grow! Beginning this year, all participating homes, businesses, churches, and Youth Teams who choose to opt in will be featured on our Hometown Holiday Door Tour Map. Families will be able to bundle up, grab some cocoa, and enjoy a cheerful driving tour of beautifully decorated doors all across Madison County. It’s a festive, family-friendly way to spread joy and bring the community together!
